Brett Ratner is an American film director, producer, and businessman. His directing credits include X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), Red Dragon (2002), Tower Heist (2011), and the Rush Hour film series. He’s a co-founder of the motion picture and financing company RatPac-Dune Entertainment. Ratner was born on March 28, 1969, in Miami Beach, Florida. His parents are Marsha and Ronald. He was raised by his mother. His siblings include a younger brother named Max. Ratner attended Miami Beach Senior High School. He graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in 1990. While at NYU, he caught the attention of Steven Spielberg who helped fund his senior project.

CAREER
Prior to films, Ratner directed music videos. His directorial film debut was the action-comedy Money Talks (1997) starring Chris Tucker. He achieved critical and commercial success with his second film Rush Hour (1998) starring Tucker and Jackie Chan. The film made $244 million at the box office. He also directed the two sequels Rush Hour 2 (2001) and Rush Hour 3 (2007). Ratner directed the superhero film X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), starring Hugh Jackman. His credits include The Family Man (2000) with Nicolas Cage, Red Dragon (2002) with Anthony Hopkins, Tower Heist (2011) with Ben Stiller, and Horrible Bosses (2011) with Jason Bateman. His on-screen credits include Black & White (1999), The Grand (2007), and the series Punk’d, and Entourage.

In 2012, Ratner co-founded ‘RatPac-Dune Entertainment’ with billionaire James Packer. The company does picture production/financing and is based in Los Angeles, California. They’ve produced a number of feature films, TV shows, and documentaries. Selected works include Mirror Mirror (2012), Catfish (2010), and Skyline (2010). RatPac-Dune agreed to a multi-year 75-film co-financing partnership with Warner Bros. in September 2013. Ratner executive-produced the Rush Hour television series for CBS.
