Swapping weapons in Diablo 4 allows you to use different strategies, so how do you do it? This guide will walk you through it.

In Diablo 4, it's incredibly important to be well-prepared for combat, which means selecting the right weapons and swapping them out accordingly on top of using your skills to their fullest. Especially if you're a Barbarian, you'll notice that the weapons you use and how to use them play a huge role in your success on the battlefield.
One way that you can strategize in your fights is to swap out your weapons. If you're in the Barbarian class, you can even assign certain skills to certain weapons. Here's how to swap between your weapons in Diablo 4 to take the most strategic approach in battle.
How To Swap Weapons in Diablo 4
For most classes in Diablo 4, you won't need to do anything special to switch weapons. Instead, you'll automatically switch between them as attacks need them. For example, if you use a skill that requires a bow and then one that requires a knife, you'll immediately and automatically swap between the bow and the knife when the respective skills activate.
The Barbarian class, however, works a bit differently; unlike other classes, you can hold four weapons. Two of those weapons can be duel-wielded. To choose which weapons you use at any given time, you'll need to assign weapons to skills in the Skills Menu. Barbarians have special weapons in their Barbarian Arsenal.
Thankfully, you won't need to put in any effort at all to switch weapons for most classes in Diablo 4; if you're playing the Barbarian, though, you'll need to use some strategy to assign the best weapons to relevant skills. It's a good idea to experiment with these to see what works best for you and allows you to take out foes more efficiently in battle.
Diablo 4's battle system is a little more complex than past games in the franchise like Diablo 3, and the Barbarian's ability to swap weapons is evidence of that. As we mentioned, you'll want to do a little bit of experimenting with different weapons and skills to find the perfect Barbarian build in Diablo 4.
