Ada County Coroner's Office reported a 32-year-old man, Eli Nash of Boise, was pronounced dead at the scene when life-saving measures were unsuccessful after a Boise Police officer shot him.

An investigation is being conducted by the Ada County Critical Incident Task Force (CITF), led by the Garden City Police Department.

The cause and manner of death are still under examination.

Nash was listed as a fugitive sex offender under Idaho Department of Correction's most wanted. He was on parole supervision for sexual exploitation of a minor. He went missing on Nov. 13, 2022.

Boise Police officers and Fugitive Recovery Agents from the Idaho Department of Corrections found Nash near E. Fairview Ave. and N. Records Way.

Officers said they attempted to remove him from the car, when Nash showed a weapon. A weapon was later recovered from the scene.

BPD officer K. Paporello, a 23-year veteran police officer shot his weapon, striking Nash. Nash was fatally wounded in the shooting, and life-saving procedures were unsuccessful.

CBS2 reached out to the mayor for further comment. We have not heard back as of yet.
