Did you ever want to live on Wisteria Lane after watching all the mania of the long-running ABC comedy-drama, Desperate Housewives? The series was created by Marc Cherry and it aired for eight seasons, wrapping up in 2012. The show followed a group of women living on Wisteria Lane and the catalyst for the central conflict involves one of their dear friends, Mary Alice, committing suicide. Over the span of the show, the complete timeframe is thirteen years.
There are a few time jumps mixed into the series. Despite Wisteria Lane appearing like a normal, beautiful, picture-perfect place to live, there is a lot of darkness lurking beneath the surface. Everyone has secrets and some of those secrets are particularly nasty. Blackmail, murder, extortion, and many other crimes lurk beneath the pretty veneer. The series was extremely popular, it and its ensemble cast garnered tons of award attention during its time on the air. We're taking a look at the net worth of all the women who played central housewives on the series.
Vanessa Williams - $28 million
Renee Perry wasn't introduced to the series until the seventh season of the show but with Vanessa Williams portraying her, it was impossible for her to not leave a mark. Prior to arriving on Wisteria Lane, Williams was best known as the main antagonist on Ugly Betty, Wilhelmina Slater.
Her character, Renee, was designed to be an old friend of Lynette with a secret past concerning Lynette's husband, Tom. She was meant to be a trouble-maker who would help stir up some juicy scandals and storylines moving the show into its seventh season. Perry is married to a professional baseball player named Doug Perry.
Dana Delaney - $10 million
Playing one of the lesser-involved housewives, Dana Delaney was introduced as Katherine Mayfair in the fourth season of the series. She was designed to become a rival to Bree's character. She has been married two times and and she also dated Julie Benz's character, Robin Gallagher. Delaney was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for her performance on the series.
Outside of Desperate Housewives, Dana Delaney is probably best known for her work in the television series, China Beach. From China Beach, she won two Emmy awards. Currently, Delaney stars on the CBS series, The Code. Although it was just canceled by the network. It remains to be seen if the series will find life on another network or streaming platform.
Nicollette Sheridan - $25 million
Nicollette Sheridan has been in the acting and modeling business for quite some time. Her first role was in the soap opera, Paper Dolls. But she became best known for playing Paige Matheson on Knots Landing. Then she moved on to Desperate Housewives where she played maneater and long-time rival to Susan Mayer, Edie Britt. Edie was a fan favorite character despite her antagonist ways.
She was nominated for a Golden Globe for her role. She was also a series regular for five seasons before her character unceremoniously killed. Recently, she played the iconic role of Alexis Carrington on The CW's reboot of the hit soap opera, Dynasty. Sheridan is now taking some time off to help take care of her sick mother. Her net worth is estimated to be $25 million.
Eva Longoria - $35 million
Considering Longoria is now an accomplished producer, even owning her own production company, it's not hard to believe that she would have an incredible net worth of $35 million. Since leaving Desperate Housewives, Longoria has put her acting career in the backseat in favor of becoming a powerhouse producer, philanthropist, and even director.
On the series, she played the character of Gabrielle Solis, who was known for being shallow and partial to materialistic things. Her character was formerly a model before getting married to Carlos, who prioritizes work over her in the beginning. She is so unhappy in her marriage she is even lead astray by their gardener. Longoria's work on the series earned her a Golden Globe nomination.
Marcia Cross - $30 million
Of the four main protagonists in season one of Desperate Housewives, Bree Van de Kamp is known for being the most picturesque and "perfect" housewife. Marcia Cross won multiple awards and nominations for her role. Bree's main struggles throughout the series were her many attempts to maintain a veil of perfection even when her life was in shambles.
She had to deal with multiple obstacles including an unruly son, divorce, multiple marriages, and even alcoholism. Before Desperate Housewives, Cross was best known for her roles on daytime soap operas like One Life to Live and as Dr. Kimberly Shaw on Melrose Place. Her estimated net worth is around $30 million.
Felicity Huffman - $20 million
Felicity Huffman played the role of Lynette Scavo on Desperate Housewives and she has received numerous accolades over her long career. Her first major acting role came from the comedy-drama series, Sports Night, which debuted in 1998. From there she went on to Desperate Housewives and then other notable films such as The Spanish Prisoner, Path to War, Rudderless, and Cake.
She also starred in the critically acclaimed anthology series, American Crime. However, recently Huffman ran into some legal issues with her involvement with a national college cheating scandal. Still, with her lucrative $20 million net worth it's not likely her finances will take a massive hit from this.
Teri Hatcher - $50 million
She played the lovable, awkward, clumsy, Susan Mayer on Desperate Housewives but before that, Hatcher was already well known for playing Lois Lane in the ABC comedy-drama, Lois & Clark. For playing Susan, she won a Golden Globe Award and was nominated for an Emmy, in addition to being nominated for several Screen Actors Guild awards.
On the series, she was one of the main housewives and remained on the show through all eight seasons. The bulk of her storylines revolved around her romance with Mike Delfino. Most recently, Hatcher had a recurring role on The CW series, Supergirl, as Rhea (Queen of Daxam). She has an estimated net worth of $50 million.
