Priyanka Chopra Jonas reveals that it was difficult for her to snap out of her Aitraaz character

Priyanka Chopra Jonas recently talked about her 2004 film Aitraaz. Responding to a question on whether she finds it difficult to snap in and out of a character. In an interview with a leading news organisation, Priyanka said, "To get into it. I’m not very methodical like that. It only happened to me once, when my mother was like, 'Snap out of it if you’re going to come into my house'." When asked which movie it was, she laughed and replied it was Aitraaz. She said that she started behaving like Sonia and said that she would walk in a certain way and would talk deliberately. "I would pick up my coffee like this, and look at you slowly."

Priyanka also revealed that her mother Madhu Chopra even recorded a video of her to demonstrate how she had changed her behaviour. "My mother was like, ‘Hello, koi camera nahi hai yahan pe. Come back home’. That was the only time it happened to me, it was so funny. I was like, ‘What am I doing?’ But I was so young, and I was so nervous about that character,” Priyanka added.

She said that she often used to bring her character back home. Priyanka said that since she was working with big stars like Kareena and Akshay, she really wanted to figure it out (her character) and not get it wrong.

She said, "But my mother quickly brought me down to earth. She filmed me once. She took a video of me quietly and showed it to me, and I was so embarrassed."

Priyanka appeared in the romantic thriller produced by Subhash Ghai and directed by Abbas-Mustan opposite Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor. Aitraaz depicts the tale of a man who was falsely accused of sexual harassment by his ex-girlfriend who has since advanced in position. Priyanka received plaudits for her amazing performance as the movie's antagonist.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Priyanka is all geared up for the release of her upcoming spy thriller series Citadel. The series is slated to premiere on OTT on April 28.

She will next be seen in Hollywood rom-com film Love Again and in Bollywood, Farhan Akhtar's Jee Le Zaraa alongside Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif. The actress recently announced that she is also set to star in Heads of State alongside John Cena and Idris Elba.
