Tamika Scott Net Worth $3 Million

Tamika Scott was born to Randolph Scott, who was a pastor, and Gloria McFarlin, who worked as a teacher; she has an older sister LaTocha, who is also a musician and a member of the band Xscape. From an early age she wanted to be a musician, as her father as well as two uncles sang in the band The Scott Three during the 1970s.
Tamika was one of the founding members of Xscape, along with her sister LaTocha Scott, Kandi Burruss, Tamera Coggins-Wynn, and Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, who met each other at the Tri-Cities high school of performing arts, located in East Point, Georgia. In 1992, the group performed at the Martin Luther King Jr. birthday celebration, and was noticed by producer Jermaine Dupri, who quickly signed the group to his own record label So So Def Recordings. In 1993 the group released “Hummin` Comin` At Cha”, their debut album which became an instant success, peaking on the Billboard Top 200 at No. 17 and in the 3rd position on the Top R&B Albums chart. From then Tamika`s net worth began to increase, and ventures with the group became the main source of her net worth until 2000 when the band broke up.

In 1995 the group released their second studio album entitled “Off The Hook”, notso successful as their first release, but still contributing substantially to Tamika`s overall net worth, as the songs “Who Can I Run To” and “Do You Want To” entered the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 at 8 and 9. Their last studio album came three years later entitled “Traces Of My Lipstick and entering at 28th place on the Billboard Top 200 chart. Some of the most popular songs of the album include “The Arms Of The One Who Loves You” and “My Little Secret” both breaking into the top 10 of the Hot 100 chart at positions 7 and 9.

After the group disbanded, Tamika stayed in music, firstly recording a single on her own, but then switching to become a producer, making music for films such as “Hardball” (2001) and “Daddy`s Little Girls” (2007) among others. She also tried herself as an actress, appearing in the films “Meet The Browns” (2004), and “There’s a Stranger in my House” (2009), which also added to her net worth.

In 2005, Tamika, LaTocha and Tameka “Tiny” Cottle restarted Xscape with the addition of a new member Kiesha Miles, working on a new album, however, it was never released, only a single, entitled “What’s Up”.
Most recently she became a part of the gospel touring group “Shh Please Don’t Tell”, which perform in theaters across the USA, and which has also increased her wealth.
When it comes to speak about her personal life, Tamika Scott has been married to Darius Byas since 1994; the couple has a daughter together.
